Having decided that I'd done enough piles of cars, iron and oildrums, I was looking through my photos for something else entirely and came across this image.

Then I saw the birdscarer above a vineyard in the Barossa, which is half an hour from home, up through the most magnificent hills, between ancient red river gums and past the immaculate Lindsay Park Stud. 
Because we live down on the other side of the hills, we're in a rain shadow (250 ml rainfall a year, if that) and are nowhere near so rich, green  and valuable.
