One of the biggest problems artists have is the conflict between
following the muse with what one hopes is integrity and getting an
income, particularly if one is supported by one's husband. It is so nice
to pay some money back into the black hole.
So, this is a purely commercial piece - I've included it just to show the difference. I was asked me to paint it for a joint exhibition, and I did, for money. I was asked for a cow and this is no more nor less than a cow. Cows were very trendy at the time. People collected paintings of cows, and beer coasters and place mats and toilet roll holders.
The amusing thing is that, at the time, nobody wanted to buy it.
