This one was the result of a great deal too much brown paint. I had
wanted to do the tent for a long time (it even started off red and white)
and came across the stalls in some early photos of the Murray Bridge Show.
It was originally planned as a reworking of Fence and Fairground with a
fence in front, but the Humpty Dumpty was too strong to hide in the
background. Then I used neither the original Humpty nor the original
lettering. I wanted him to be gleeful. The girl throwing balls also got a
great deal angrier.
I have used the pony in Broken Window and Photos $2
but he got darker this time and I changed the bloke leading him who may
appear a bit tall, but he would have tripped over the tent pegs otherwise.
The child was at Adelaide Zoo about 3 Christmases ago.
The woman in the stall lurched in front of the camera in Rundle Mall and here she is, immortalised!
