Having been invited to enter the Tattersall's landscape Prize I decided to go with what I knew, repeating the Fence and Fairground composition.

During the intervening 18 months I had, however, got access to both a paddockful of derelict farm machinery and an area of fairly untroubled scrub, in which I found this stump. The rusted galvo post appeared in the background of a huge series of photos of knotted barbed wire. Without holes it was much stronger than the dropper I have used several times before, and I could also tie it up with baler twine. The figure was striding angrily towards me as I took his photo in Rundle Mall.

I've explained the number 43 in Man Running 2 and the trees are again from Goolwa.

Having just put the Compare Fences Page together, I am astonished at how much my work has changed.

**There is a comparison of my development in painting the Mount Lofty Ranges on the Compare Hills Page.
