Landscape with Man Running

Whilst looking for pictures of women running I found this photo of a cross country runner who was so inwardly focused and so balanced that I wanted to put him right in the middle of a composition of the hills (which are also inwardly focused and balanced) around Currency Creek.

It was straight after the Dead Cat and I was still mulling around the concept of a 'picture' in relation to the whole canvas so, again, I did a picture of a picture. It is a useful devise, as it is possible to enclose the composition without using trees, Stobie poles, etc and, also, balance the weight of it with a couple of strong horizontal stripes across the bottom.

**There are more notes on the man running on the Compare Man Running Page and a comparison of my development in painting the Mount Lofty Ranges on the Compare Hills Page.
