Because the paintings were so small, artists were allowed 4 entries. I
did two.
With a headful of Muybridge images (I have just bought two more volumes of his
photos), I did this one. The balancing brown shape at the bottom started
off with an orange in a red bowl on it, but the scale did NOT work, so I
screwed up some gold paper instead. I stayed with the paint-crusted wall
I had used in A Muybridge Nude, as I wanted the wall to be an element in
its own right - not just an area of paint linking the nudes, shelf and
paper. It is so difficult to make a flat area of paint be as solid as a
wall.
Now, with all those images rattling around in my head, I am
faced with the problem of repeating this sort of thing ad infinitum, or
what?
