It was so refreshing painting this. I knew exactly which colours I wanted, and the exact design, so I could not only just sit down and do it but also come back to it several weeks later and not feel the compulsion to change it all.

It would be so tempting to go on and on with variations on the same theme, gradually working my way through Muybridge's photographs and getting bored witless in the process.
