Battered Sign

This truly magnificent sign had been ripped from its post during a gale across the Mount Lofty Ranges. It hung on the studio wall for a while until I decided to suspend it, alone,  within a frame.

Having established the balance between the sign, the weight of the timber and the interior margin on Photoshop, I made it up using 90ml pine post and 4.5 ml perspex. The frame is painted with very thick, textured oil paint. It weighs 24 kilos.
