Dead Foxes
Dead foxes beside the road to Cambrai

The group show at Pivotal is on 11 February and I intend to spend a long time at the Rosalie Gascoigne exhibition as she is one of the very few artists that I truly admire. I have always felt closer to her work than to artists like J Smart, etc.

Am just finishing a submission to ArtsSA to get onto their register of South Australian artists and I’m sure it will be of inestimable benefit. Over the years I have looked at their website and publicity, hoping to be able to apply for some sort of grant or funding, rather than pay for paint and canvas out of the housekeepingbut the requirement was for a fully costed ‘project’ and I never could think of one.

Back into the grave flowers, which is now nearly finished. Probably not enough time to finish the Melbourne Lanes one by 11 February when the group show opens at Pivotal, but it can wait for ArtMelbourne 09 in April, along with another pile of cars.

I have started to collect antique African Lega masks after a shop dealing in antique African masks and modern artifacts opened in the nearby South Australian town of Gawler. Very black and extremely powerful. Not possible to paint them – that would be plagiarism.
