Gumtree Branch

This painting  is one of the three 'white' still lives (the others being Fake Irises and Meditations on a Dead Parrot, recently reworked). The gumtree branch was chosen with great care.

The rose wallpaper, repetitively directing your eye to the upper left-hand corner, balances the downward circular dynamic of the branch..

It has been hanging, quietly and comfortably, in our lounge ever since.
